The Tea Stooges Go To Egypt

(via Anne Laurie at Balloon Juice)

So you ask yourself, “How in the world could the situation in Egypt become any more of a clusterf*ck?”  BEHOLD:

Sure, let’s allow arguably the three stupidest people in the United States Congress (and quite possibly the dumbest on the planet as a whole) jet over to Egypt (at whose expense, BTW) and spread their pearls of wisdom crap all over the Egyptian rug:

During Saturday’s press conference, Gohmert praised Egyptian coup-leader General Abdel Fatah el-Sissi by comparing him to U.S. President George Washington.

We met with for a long meeting General el-Sissi and many of the military leaders, and my friend Steve King mentioned again about our heritage in America,” he explained. “George Washington, doing what no one had ever done before him, led a military in revolution, won the revolution, and then resigned and went home.”….

So in Gohmer(t)’s world, Washington never served as President? I wonder if he started deep into el-Sissi’s eyes and saw his soul too?

Not to be outdone (as if that was even possible!), Michele, Queen of the Bug-Eyed Beards, reached down deep and brought the derp:

Together, we’ve gone through suffering. Together, the United States and Egypt, have dealt with the same enemy,” Bachmann explained. “It’s a common enemy, and it’s an enemy called terrorism.”

We want to make sure that you have the Apache helicopters, the F-16s, the equipment that you have so bravely used to capture terrorists and to take care of this menace that’s on your border,” she continued. “Many of you have asked, do we understand who the enemy is? We can speak for ourselves. We do.”…

Ladies and gentlemen, there is only one proper response to stupidity such as this:

"...nor logic, nor intellect of any kind..."

  1. Of course, these are the same morons who want no democracy here at home, either. If there is any justice left, Bachman will soon be living off the taxpayers in a slightly different capacity, as a ward of the penal system.

    • Agreed.

Love the hypocrisy of this bunch (who lost their minds when Pelosi took her ill-advised trip) – there is literally NO PRINCIPLE that means anything to them when it comes to what their party does vs. what Democratic politicians do.

  2. I hope you didn’t miss Steve King talking about the US Chamber of Commerce presence. Time for Egyptians to start checking their wallets.
