So Steve Inskeep hosts a conversation with writer Donna Britt and her two now-grown sons about surviving Living While Black. I guess his liberalometer pegged or something:
Inskeep: When you hear someone who’s been arrested, or shot, uh, in an encounter with police, even though you know the person and you believe the person to be completely innocent, do you end up having a discussion about how, the guy who was in effect the victim, really should have done something different?
Britt-Gibson (one of the two sons): I mean, it’s hard not to be black, you know what I mean? It’s like, cause, sometimes I mean, in the Trayvon Martin case, again, it wasn’t a cop, it was a neighborhood watch guy, but, he was a black kid. I don’t know what he could have done differently.
But yeah Steve, “don’t be black” ISN’T AN OPTION. DUMBASS.
